This Blog will be my personal comments and information. It will include information about my area of interest, some Politics, Poverty issues which include oppression and native issues. Please feel free to comment, for it by dialogue that we find solutions. In my opinion part of the problems we face stem from the lack of communication and the willingness to speak out.

Blocades to the Elimination of Poverty
BLOCKADES
Power and Control versus Equality
In any situation where there is violence, abuse and inequality the person or persons in the position of power and control will use intimidation as a means of keeping the vulnerable under their control. It is always the situation when a person must ask for social assistance and especially when that person has no other means to support themselves. In the cycle of violence, abuse and inequality the following are true for persons on public assistance:- intimidation versus a non-threatening behaviour
- emotional abuse versus respect
- isolation versus trust and support
- minimizing, denying and blaming versus honesty and accountability
- using the children versus responsible role model
- privileges denied versus shared information
- economic abuse versus partnership
- coercion and threats versus negotiation and fairness
The homeless and the very poor are the most vulnerable people in any society. Many of them suffer or have suffered from addiction. Most are living simply because they are survivors, and the meager benefits given by governments does not help them exit the welfare lines.
